Villa I Due Padroni is a Bed & Breakfast situated in the beautiful hills and vineyards of the Oltrepò Pavese, in Lombardy, the north of Italy. This is a region in which century old villages alternate with castles and forests. It is no surprise that this region is sometimes called the Tuscany of Lombardy. An ideal area to spend your holidays, when you are looking for tranquility, space and privacy in a beautiful environment while there are also lots of pleasant activities to do.

Nico and Stef gave us a warm welcome. Because of all the available information, we could quickly undertake all kinds of activities. The rregion ea is fantastic and we greatly enjoyed the panoramic view over the vineyards. We also enjoyed the delicious Italian food and wines from this region with Nico, Stef and other guests.
Two wonderful holiday weeks spent with Stef and Nico. A spacious and clean apartment where our dog was also very welcome. You have complete freedom and peace. From the apartment you have a beautiful view of the hills
What a beautiful building in a fantastic place. This combined with super hosts made our stay in February 2019 a great experience. An absolute must.

Villa I Due Padroni has three floors. The appartment Cantinetta (45 m2) is located on the grond floor. The first floor is rented out as a large and luxurious apartment Loggione (95 m2). We live on the second floor of the house.
Apartment Loggione is suitable for max. 6 people. It is in fact completely independent and has been fitted with every conceivable comfort. The apartment consists of:
The apartment has its own entrance. In the summer period, the Loggione apartment is only rented out per week with a changeover day on Saturdays.

Apartment Cantinetta is on the ground floor of the villa and measures 50m2. It shares its entrance with that of the apartment of the owners of the villa. In contrast to the larger apartment Loggione, during the summer period you can stay also just for a few days with us. Of course, a stay for one or several weeks is always possible. An arrival on other days than Saturday is also possible. This completely independent apartment on the ground floor consists of:

Between 24th April until September 25th the large apartment il Loggione is only rented out on a weekly basis (from saturday to saturday). However, outside this period a shorter stay is possible. You may then opt for a stay as a Bed & Breakfast guest in one of the bedrooms. In this case you pay per room per night (two persons).

The remainder of the rent plus the deposit and the cost for final cleaning should be paid in cash upon arrival or by transfer to the above-mentioned bank account. We are unable to accept payments by debit or credit cards.
You can cancel up to one month before arrival, your deposit will be refunded. Should travel restrictions imposed by the UK or Italian government in connection with the containment of the coronavirus, and you have to cancel your trip as a result, your deposit will be refunded, even if this government decision falls within this one month.
Villa I Due Padroni is situated in the province of Pavia, Lombardy. The southern part of this province is called Oltrepò Pavese. "Oltre (il) Po" means literally: on the other side of the Po. The Po is the major river that dominates the large plain, the "pianura padana" of Northern Italy.
South of the Po the plain quickly turns into a hilly landscape: this area lies at the foothills of the Ligurian Alpes and the Apennines and is covered with vineyards. The Oltrepò actually is the largest wine producing region of Lombardy.

Lazing and relaxing, sunbathing, swimming, enjoying the views, the peace and the beautiful weather, these are a few of the favorite activities of guests of our holiday home. Villa I Due Padroni is situated in the municipality of Montecalvo Versiggia, which consists of more than 50 hamlets, or "frazioni". Our B&B holiday apartment is one of the nine houses in frazione Spagna. Next to Spagna lie the "frazioni" Francia, Casella and Tromba.
Montecalvo is part of the province of Pavia, and more specific of the region Oltrepò Pavese, in short Oltrepò, approximately 70 km south of Milan.
The nearest larger communities are Broni and Stradella, which can be reached directly from motorway A21. From these small cities you can reach us by driving 10 km south into the first hills of the Apennines.
Our bed & breakfast lies on a range of hills at an altitude of 240 m between the valleys of the brooklets Scuropasso and Versiggia. The nearest village, Santa Maria della Versa lies appr. 10 minutes from the villa.

The Oltrepò is the most southern point of the Region Lombardy, in the north of Italy.

We, Nico and Stef, are the two "padroni" or the owners of the villa which is also the home the home of our dog Joia, who feels very much at home here. It is clear that our house is dog friendly!
In May 2008 we have moved to this beautiful location in Italy, not only to enjoy "la dolce vita" ourselves, but also because we want to make others familiar with this undiscovered area. We have therefore created twe beautiful holiday apartments.
After a few month of searching, during a half-year sabbatical leave in the historic town of Pavia, we found the house of our dreams in this wonderful spot in the hills of the Oltrepò Pavese. We said farewell to our jobs and study and emigrated to Italy.
We have renovated the house to make it even more suitable for us and our guests. Two apartments have been realized. Apartment Loggione, suitable for 6 people, has for instance a private and specious (40 m2) panorama terrace. The smaller apartment Cantinetta can accomodate 3-4 people. The residents of both apartment can use the swimming pool in the garden.
We intend to make your stay a pleasant one and we hope to share with you our fascination for this part of Italy.
